MAREA is a two-week illustration campus taught intensively, born with the aim of offering an immersive and unique experience; a place where participants can create and learn something new, but more than anything else revolutionize their knowledge in the field of illustration.
To enter is not required to know how to draw: the purpose of MAREA is not to teach drawing, but to teach thinking through drawing.
We believe that successful illustrations are based on sound research and insightful observations. So, in order to build a comprehensive knowledge
background, MAREA will include a combination of lectures, individual and collective reviews and meetings with professionals in the sector. Participants will also be encouraged to draw on site, in order to develop their observational skills and use drawing as a form of expression while exploring the city of Venice.
Based on your research, drawing inspiration, visits to major art and open-air sights, you will create your illustrated project.
During the final presentation, each project will be discussed individually or in a group.
The course is intended for people who have the competence or basic professional expertise in the area of study and are interested in developing their professional skills. A basic knowledge of Italian and English is required.
If you are interested in applying, please send your portfolio and your CV (in PDF format) with the following information: name, family name, birthday, address (street, city, country), telephone, e-mail, school (if student).
The outcome of the evaluation will be communicated via email within 10 working days.
The deadline for submitting your application is July 31, 2023.
